Badlands South Dakota

On my way heading back east I decided to take a route through the Bandlands of South Dakota. Again I had been here when I was younger and had done the cross country trip with my family but to heck if remember any of it. I mentioned to someone the other day that I wish we had done the trip later in life because I would have a better appreciation for it and most likely remembered it. But they had a good point in that it was an experience that my parents will get to remember and cherish for the rest of their lives that we got to spend that time with them.
Since I was driving home, I didn't spend too much time here but drove the roads of the park and soaked up the sun and the freedom of the animals and the wildness of the place. It is very barren but there is so much that we do not see. If we are not careful this land and everything that lives here will be gone just like other places on earth, where they are disappearing. Travel smart and live life with less waste and more respect for mother earth.
