I decided not to go home this weekend and figured since it was going to rain where I was working I needed to head out west and find something to do. I found a cute little renovated Motel called the Sunset Motel to park at for the next two days and this will be my home base. I got up fairly early this morning (for myself at least) and headed out on the road to check out some waterfalls.

My 1st stop was Rainbow Waterfall, it's a 3.8 Mi round trip hike a majority of the trail is gravel with of course rocks in Roots sticking up in various places but so far the trip down was fairly easy stairs rocks and Roots like a typical Trail and of course going back is always harder than going to. I would suggest that if you don't have very good balance issues that you stay away from this Trail.

My next stop was Skinny Dip Falls off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. I love the Parkway and really hope i can drive the whole thing in the fall someday.

Along the way I stopped at the Devil's Court House and did the 20 min hike to the look out. What a beautiful view when you get to the top...thankfully I had a nice clear day.

I also stopped to see Hooker Falls and Tripple Falls......and my first thought when walking to Triple Falls was "I swear I have been here before " yet for the life of i couldn't think why...I've never been this far west in NC. Then it dawned on me hahaha! My mom and i stopped here on our drive back from Tenn. The names of the falls didn't ring any bells but the hikes and views did. Oh sometimes I wonder about myself lol!

Its the end of my day today Saturday the 5th and I am ending my day at another waterfall that I feel should be kept secret. This seems like a hidden gem because there are no signs and there were no cars around the first time i drove by this morning. Beware anytime you visit places that there could be more to it than you 1st find, which is what I foilund after I took some pics. I shared the space with 2 families who seem to be enjoying themselves. Im sat on a rock close to one of the waterfalls. As I sat here i thought about how incredibly wonderful mother nature is. I assume millions of gallons of water come over the falls in a day and it never seems to stop. So many of us take this kind of thing for granted. I hope that in sharing my experiences with you that you take a moment to enjoy what is around you on a daily basis.

XO Noodle
