So I didn't have an epiphany while I was over seas enjoying my trip, I tried to not think about what I was going to do next in my career. But since I have been back home and doing some substitute teaching, I have decided that I want to do more teaching.

If i had my own way, I would love to create a computer based class that really excels students skills in the Microsoft Office section. So many people have no idea how to do a lot of functions within each program. It is so important to understand them for a lot of jobs. If more people have the correct skills, the better their resume will be, and they will be one step ahead of someone who doesn't.

Yet, life doesn't do what I want it to do! So i put some thought into becoming a teacher. I am not someone who does well with school, lectures and papers and so forth, so going to get my masters in education just wasn't what I wanted to do. I started to do a lot of research on the internet of different things that I could teach. The one that came up more and more often was ESL/EFL, which is English as a Second Language/English as a First Language. I found a ton of programs that were not too expensive and would give me the training I needed in order to teach these. And.....here is the best part (well at least I think so), these teachers are needed ALL OVER THE WORLD! I can pretty much go anywhere I want to and teach!

AS you know I love to travel and I love to teach so this opportunity is giving me the chance to combine my two favorite things! So I made the plunge a few weeks ago and paid for a online class so that I can be certified to teach anywhere. I will complete my course at the beginning of Aug, and I am looking to start my travel teaching hopefully in the spring. I have some really good opportunities coming up in the fall for me to make and save some money, and hopefully if all goes well I will be able to add another kind of training under my belt.

I am really looking forward to this next chapter in my life, and even though the pay sucks being a sub at schools, I am learning a lot and I enjoy interacting with the students. I enjoy telling them about my travels and that making big decisions like this IS scary. Take some chances within reason, try not to have many regrets and live life how you want to, because it is WAY TOO SHORT!

Here is to always having the courage to change, and embracing it!!!
