Seals and the sea

What to do today? Well, I decided to go to their peninsula and check out what goes on out there. Since it was low tide you could walk all over the flat rocks way out to where the ocean finally met them. As I am walking along I spot a HUGE fur seal just chilling out on the rocks way up close to the side of the cliff of land. He had to of been 70 yards away from the ocean which I thought was nuts. But there he was just laying out and sunning himself. Of course I went over and got some great snapshots of him sleeping, so exciting I know! I continued my walk out along the rocks to see if there were any small tide pools to check out. One thing is for sure, when you got to the end there was a ton of big, slimy, long, green seaweed lol
I meandered back to the parking lot and saw that there was a walk that went up the cliff to look out over where I had just walked. So I headed up to the top, thank goodness it was a ramp and not stairs, and all I can say is wow! It was beautiful! Again as far as the eye can see, arrays of blues from ice blue to deep sky blue and everything in between. I followed the path for 20 min or so that just went along the whole peninsula and figured I didn’t want to go too far since I was on a semi schedule, so I turned around and headed back. Remember I said the view was wow, well on my way back down there were people coming up and when they got to the top I heard them say, “wow”…so you know it was good!

Since I haven’t been sleeping all that well (on and off sleep is rough when you do so much), I went back to my tent to take a nap. Yes I know said above I was limited on time, and that is true but who doesn’t need a nap. I got up and decided to head into town again for dinner and was VERY tempted to get the same thing I did last night of the steak and taters. But I found a small Italian place and stopped in there and boy was I in for a small surprise. On their specials for the night they had carbonara which I love so I got that and opted for no alcohol since it was so pricey. Lol Although I ended the dinner with some gelato and a peppermint tea, haha better than booze though eh?
On my way back there was a store that was still open which I was surprised about so I went in to take a peak. I won’t bore you with all the details, but let’s say that I found a wedding gift for my mom and her fiancé.
So I am back at the campground wrapping up some posts from a few days and hoping to get them posted soon.
