I'm writing this from the new bed I made in the car I rented. It has been cold (50 deg F) and rainy since I got here and sleeping in a tent with cold and rain.....I kind of draw the line. I obviously can tent in the rain especially after the monsoon in Australia, but the cold kills me. So this car isn't really designed to sleep in, so I made modifications.

1. I bought an air mattress

2. Bought a sleeping bag

3. Bought a bin to store shit in :)

When you put the back seats down, they don't lie flat with the trunk because the trunk dips way down. This is where the bin comes in handy. I filled the bin with some of my stuff (yay extra storage) and put it in the trunk. I took another bag full of my stuff and put it next to it. Viola! PRetty much the same height as the seat. I blew up the air mattress and opened up the sleeping bag and I am ready for bed. Hopefully tonight I won't be super cold and uncomfortable.

Anyway, my day started out traveling to Dunedin where I found their lovely railway station. It was so massive and intricate. It had tile floors, stained glass windows and the architecture was stunning.

From there I wandered down town to see some more of their old buildings. I came across St. Pauls's Cathederal, I am not a "god believing person" but I love going into churches to see what the architecture is like and how ornate things are. This one was not as stunning as I expected, but it was still beautiful.

I meander back to the car where I head off to Larnach Castle. I had seen some pictures online but nothing prepared me fo the inside. Thank goodness I was allowed to take no flash pictures because I am not sure I cna fully describe it enough to tell its true beauty.

The gardens were well planted and because it kept raining, I got some cool pictures of some beautiful flowers with rain on them. The inside.....ooooo! It had so many rooms that were built with beautiful honey brown wood that was declicately polished, nothing like other castles I have ever seen. There were so many rooms that have been brought back to life by the family who purchsed it, and the family members of the Larnarch's who have donated family heirloms for everyone to enjoy. The furniture was also golden honey browns that had ornate handles and designs on them. They even allowed you to access the very top, where the view of the houses and the bays below, totally breath taking. I think I spent about 2 or more hours exploring the castle and the gardens, never a waste of time in my eyes.

I ended up finishing my day by heading to Nugget Point, where there was a nice long walk out to the light house on the point. On the way out, you could hear the seagulls and seals below trying to dodge the waves and feast on all of the fish. The view at the light house was beautiful, and looked like the name Nuggett was from all of the rocks out past the coast that stuck out of the water like little nuggets. :)

Anyhoo...bedtime is calling me. Till next time
