Short day

We had a pretty late start to our day today…..oops! We decided to head over to this place called Desert Park which is a little sanctuary/zoo area to see some local animals. They were working on the Dingo area when we got there and the 2 Dingos were actually in the lobby and we were able to interact with them. Main visual characteristics of Dingos is that they have white feet and partial white legs and then the tip of their tail is white, this is usually how you can tell them from regular dogs. They also sniff faces instead of each other’s butts like normal dogs do, so when they jumped up on the couch I was on and wanted to sniff me I let them. It was a bit nerve wracking having a semi wild animal so close to my face but their handler was there making sure everything went ok. After a good 20 min talk with their handler we headed into the park to check out the animals.

This wasn’t as nice as I thought it might be, but it was a good place to go. If we had started our day earlier we could of done more of the educational talks they had there which would have been cool. We say tons of different birds (ones that had a nest on the ground and were keeping their eggs warm), some red kangaroos, some nocturnal animals like icky snakes, creepy spiders and even cute furry little rabbit type things. I really enjoy these kinds of places because I can get so lost in them for hours on end. I really really really enjoy the aviaries where you can go into the caged environment and the birds are free to fly around you. I could probably sit for 2 hours or so in one just taking pictures, that is how much I enjoy them.

Anyhoo, we finished the park up and headed to the store to grab some beers for a chill afternoon/night drink by the hotel pool becasue it was so hot and humid. It was a fairly late night for me for some odd reason the beer was keeping me up, I turned on the TV and found a USA hockey game, found some football hahaha and finished the beers up. Espen and Anais were leaving in the morning, so it was a nice way to end the few short days we chilled out.
