Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

During Christmas Eve day, we decided to sleep in a bit and then we headed out to a town called Sorrento which is south of Melbourne. It is so beautiful!!! It is a quaint town with tons of shops and stunning beaches. We went to a place called Coppins Lookout which was a short walk up a big hill that looked out over the ocean. It happened to be low tide which was awesome. You could actually see small and large tidepools that were left over and walk all over the rocks to explore.

The rocks were covered with a green colored seaweed that were in bubble form and super squishy to walk on. It was so beautiful. Mary and I decided to change into our costumes (that is what they call bathing suits here lol) and go down to the beach area to walk around and check out the tide pools. We ended up jumping in one to go for a swim. HOLY HELL it was cold!!!!!!! Like take your breathe away cold, which it sure as shit did lol.

I faced a big fear today and that is swimming wth a ton of seaweed around. Long slimy brown icky seaweed! I had a panick attack in the water because it kept getting around my feet and scaring the crap out of me. I have a god aweful fear of the ocean lol especially deep water where I can't see what is below me. It is a fear that I have had for as long as I can remember. I do swim in the ocean despite it and go snorkeling all the time I hope that someday this fear will subside a bit as I get older but nope...not yet lol

After spending the day there we headed back and stoped at a local brewery (Mornington Brewery) to grab some food and drink. Beer was just so so, I have been trying all sorts of new beer while here and the one I had here was one of my least favorite.

Once we got home we decided to take a nap so that we could go out and celebrate Chrismast Eve, as we heard that the city is usually hopping at night. We went out and it was farily dead! We made our way to one of the only bars that seemed to be open and grabbed a few drinks. Next thing we know, a guy comes over and asks us if we would like to join him and his friends for a drink. Of course we would! These 3 guys (Andrew, Adam and Mike) were really nice. We hung out them for a few drinks till the bar closed. Then 4 of us headed over to the casino since it was open late for a few more drinks. I didn't get back home and in bed till 3:30am1 Needless to say I wasted most of my Christmas day in bed lol

On Christmas day we spent more of the day in bed being lazy unfortunatly. We found a small Italian restaurant (14 Bridge) that was open and drove over to grabbed some early dinner. After dinner we headed back into the city again to go and check out some of the graffiti streets. In the city apparently there is a lot of graffiti so in order to keep it under control they allow artists to put it on certain streets and buildings. I am not a huge fan of graffiti myself, but some of it is really cool.

I even found a message for me! Hahhaa

Well that wraps up our day for Chrismas....tomorrow we are going to try and go to a cricket match if the weather holds out.
