Routines

I have a love/hate relationship with routines. They are great for things like getting ready for your day nd winding down your day. These kinds of routines I can handle and find them meaningful. The routines that really kill me are the full day ones. You get up, go to work, do your job, go home, do what ever you need to do, go to bed and repeat the next day. I was finding that my life had unfortunatly become way too routine. Things were very consistent at my job with very little change from day to day. I am not talking that I need to have major upheavels in my days lol but knowing what to expect all the time really wasn't doing me any good.
Since I have left my job, my only routines are getting ready in the mornings and getting ready for bed at night. And honestly I am really loving it!! I get up at different hours to get my day started head off to different schools from Pre K to seniors, and you never know what your day will entail other than taking some picutres of kids. The pictures that your kids get from the school pics.....yup that is me taking them depending on which company a school uses. I take pride in making sure the kids look good, hair is all set, no upturned collars, everything looks nice and put together. That is what I would want from a photographer taking my childs picture that I am going to pay for so I do that for them.
My rides are never the same because we are all over Mass, NH and Maine. THe other day we got lost in NH on the boarder of VT in some beautiful foliage. Sometimes it is just into a city I have never been to and need to navigate our way around. T
Now don't get me wrong, this is not the position that I want to do for the rest of my life because the money sucks and there is no room for growth, but it is exactly what I needed after my last job as a transition out and before my big trip.
Here is hoping that my trip is really going to allow me to figure out what I do want to do. NO major routines please :)
