Nantucket part II

I have finally recovered from my weekend in Nantucket. So what do I have to say about it???

We stayed at the Nantucket Inn which is over by the airport. It was great! The rooms were nice, the bed and pillows were very comfortable and it was easy to access. They have a shuttle that runs to and from downtown all day long till about 12:15am, which is really convienent. They have a breakfast that can be included which we did, that was amazing! It was all buffet but so incredibly good. Waffles, french toast, eggs benedict, fruits, yogurts, cereal, bacon, sausage.....I could keep going but I am making myself extremly hungry (doesn't help that I haven't eaten yet today lol)

We toured around the town which is very quaint and nice. Cobblestone walk ways can be a pain in the rear if you have heels on....so I would advice NO heels unless you are willing to possibly pay the price lol.

There are a lot of shops downtown but they are WAY too expensive for my pocket. If I made more money I might buy some stuff but not any time soon.

We visited the Rose and Crown for dinner one night and it was actually pretty good....we found out it turns into a "dance club" at 10pm so we checked it out and were really surprised that we had actually eaten there lol.

We also checked out Nix which had a great blues band playing, and also went to BYB (Back yard barbeque).

Saturday day we decided to be adventurous and bike around the island. I had brought mine over with me on the ferry so the rest of my crew rented them. They have some really nice biking paths that cross over the island. As you can see by my little map we did quite a bit. It actually ended up being 28.1 miles......NO WONDER my legs killed so bad lol.

As great as it was to see everything we did, I wouldn't do that again lol My friends didn't have leg issues as bad as I did thank god, they were a bit sore but nothing they couldn't handle :)

All in all......it was a very nice weekend!!!! The company was great, I ran into an old friend from high school out of nowhere and the ferry ride was beautiful and calming.

With all that being said......I wouldn't go back. Why if I have so many positive things to say wouldn't I go back??? It isn't really my scene.....it costs a lot to get there especially if you want to bring a car, to spend the night there in the best time with great weather will most likely cost you an arm and a leg and then you eat and drink out each day/night. I think over all I spent around $500 give or take between the ferry ride to/from, parking my car in Hyannis for 3 days, food/drink and hotel and of course gas to get me to/from my house. Being that close to home and spending that much money doesn't really excite me. I want to go somewhere I can't get too very often and experience another culture or different foods and so forth. An island to me has palm trees and white sand and it is warm all year round lol.....Nantucket is beautiful don't get me wrong...just not the island for me :)
